Bicycle NSW Creating a better environment for cycling
We are a member-based association and our mission is simple:
To promote, advocate, and support cycling in all its forms as an environmentally sustainable and healthy form of transport, recreation and tourism through the engagement of government, industry and the community at all levels.
We also work hard to promote road safety education of cyclists and other road users, and to bring about improved conditions and better facilities for cyclists.
We work collaboratively with many areas of government, industry and the community (including some 650 committed volunteers) to deliver broad-based community participation cycling events, behaviour change programs and advocacy initiatives.
Established in 1976, we now have over 50 affiliated local community-based Bicycle User Groups (BUGs) around NSW. As well as working closely with their respective local councils, BUGs run over 100 community-based rides throughout NSW every month.
The organisation provides a range of insurance products and cycling-related services to its members.
